No Nonsense Networking runs monthly networking events in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. Their events bring businesses together to make connections and gain contacts.

Based in an old mill town, they connect local businesses together and provide informal, straight-forward, non-structured networking events.

Objectives

Formerly known as ‘Big Shots Business Club,’ the business was perceived as a networking group for ‘big shot’ business people. This was acting unintentionally as a deterrent for start-up businesses and SMEs. The message the business wanted to portray was inclusivity and straight-forward networking. Their former brand identity system was sending the wrong message to their customers.

No Nonsense Networking wanted to achieve an identity that stood out from other networking events and to engage more with business owners. Their events appeal to those who want to gain insight and knowledge into running a business and also to develop and nurture business relationships. Their event formats are informal with a non-structured approach. 

Social media is one of their main conversion sources to their events. They want to grow their online community and transform it into a directory of local businesses that can be accessed by all members and visitors to the website.

Logo Design

Once we had identified their problems and understood their goals. We were able to understand their current brand position. Based on the results, we began to develop a creative strategy. Part of the initial strategy was to create a business name. The nature and tone of the events inspired the name ‘No Nonsense.’ 

The alliteration of the name, NNN, was the inspiration for the distinctive mark. It incorporates a simple shape to illustrate an old industrial mill. It symbolises the connections and links that people make when attending the events.

We developed their entire brand identity system using bold colours and complementary typography.

No Nonsense Networking have gained a reputation for providing a ‘no nonsense’ approach to networking. Their membership has increased threefold and continues to grow with each event. 20-50% of the attendees at each months event are newcomers. Social media interaction has increased and their website results in 5 new members subscriptions every month.

Their brand identity is becoming well recognised and is now being used to franchise the model. With their unique style and image, they were able to secure government funding to further develop their events.
