We are delighted to announce that Grinning Graphics’ Creative Director Kate Adamson will be joining the board at EdShift.

We are delighted to announce that Grinning Graphics’ Creative Director Kate Adamson will be joining the board at EdShift, the award-winning community interest company and arts organisation. EdShift are dedicated to protecting the emotional health and wellbeing of young people, and equipping them with the skills and awareness to achieve healthy, equal, and fulfilling relationships. They provide specialised Arts Psychotherapy that gives children and young people dealing with complex trauma a greater chance to overcome their adverse experiences so they can journey towards healing and recovery.

Kate will serve as a Marketing Director and will work closely with EdShift to help amplify its message and drive awareness and engagement. This significant addition underscores EdShift’s commitment to achieving their mission to empower young people with the knowledge and skills to make informed choices about their relationships, emotional wellbeing and sexual health.

“It is a huge honour to be on the board at EdShift,” Kate said. “They are a wonderful organisation that I’ve had the pleasure of working with ever since their inception. Myself and my business partner were part of the creation of the original brand identity design to help EdShift get started and make their mark on the world. Over the years we’ve had the pleasure to be able to design their website and the majority of their marketing resources, videos, school resources and projects. I have watched EdShift go from strength to strength and witnessed their team and services grow. It’s been inspiring to see how much determination they have and their commitment to the community and young people is simply incredible.”

Grinning Graphics specialise in creating visually engaging, accessible, and user-friendly websites and user interfaces for charities and businesses. Kate brings a wealth of experience in marketing and communications, with a proven track record working with various charities in Calderdale and Halifax to enhance their marketing and branding, and engage more effectively with audiences.

“It’s not easy running an organisation like EdShift,” Kate explained. “That’s why I wanted to offer my marketing and branding expertise in a more involved capacity to help them grow even more and achieve more awareness through their marketing efforts. I offered to join their board, and I was absolutely delighted when they accepted. I feel this is not the start of a beautiful relationship but a continuation of a beautiful collaboration with like-minded people with the common goal to making EdShift a success.”

EdShift’s work aims to equip children living with domestic abuse and violence with coping strategies and vital safety planning skills. Ellie Brook, EdShift’s CEO and Founder, expressed her delight at welcoming the new appointment. “I am thrilled and privileged to welcome Kate Adamson to the board at EdShift,” she said. “Her dedication to our organisation and the impactful work we do has been unwavering since the very start. Kate’s expertise in marketing and branding has been instrumental in helping us amplify our message and reach a wider audience. Her commitment to empowering young people aligns seamlessly with our mission, and we are excited to continue our journey of growth and impact together. Kate’s addition to our team represents not only a continuation of a longstanding collaboration but also the beginning of a new chapter in our efforts to support and uplift the next generation.”

Kate joins EdShift to help support and deliver their mission to empower the next generation and to help educate, engage, and drive change. EdShift provide invaluable support to our communities, delivering a range of arts-based programmes developed to support young people with lived experience of domestic abuse. They ensure each child receives appropriate support based on their individual needs, including drop in and peer support, early intervention and complex therapy.

EdShift’s work strives to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence by engaging with young people, schools and the wider community to raise awareness and break the cycle of violence. They provide practical support and training to address the challenges and issues faced by our community, working with professionals and statutory agencies to ensure that the voices of children and young people they support are the driving force for social change.
