We have been working with Neil to develop a new website dedicated to promoting CPR education and awareness.
The project holds special significance for Grinning Graphics, as director Carl Campbell is a designer here and a cardiac arrest survivor, see his cardiac arrest story here. In August 2023, Carl suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while exercising at a local gym. Fortunately, trained gym staff immediately performed CPR and used an on-site defibrillator, delivering two life-saving shocks. Carl was later diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) and pacemaker. His survival highlights the live-saving power of CPR and the critical importance of accessible defibrillators and prompt CPR intervention.
Neil Davidson is also a cardiac arrest survivor. He founded the Calderdale Community CPR Fund with a commitment to introducing CPR to people all over Calderdale. In July 2017, Neil suffered a cardiac arrest at home. Thanks to his son Oliver’s quick thinking and immediate CPR efforts, his life was saved. This experience inspired Neil to dedicate himself to raising awareness about CPR training and advocating for the availability of defibrillators in local communities.
Grinning Graphics is honoured to support Neil in his mission. “This project is close to our hearts,” said Kate, creative director at Grinning Graphics. “Carl is a valued partner at Grinning Graphics and a living example of why CPR awareness is so vital. Partnering with Neil to build a platform that can educate and inspire others is a great opportunity to make a real difference.” The new website will serve as a central hub for CPR education, survivor stories, and resources to help individuals and communities take life-saving action in emergencies.
By providing a professional and accessible platform, Grinning Graphics aims to amplify Neil’s vital message. Carl shared his thoughts on the project: “Having personally experienced how CPR and defibrillators saved my life, this cause means a lot to me. To work with Neil on a project that promotes these life-saving tools is a real privilege.” Neil Davidson added, “Raising awareness about CPR is crucial, and I’m grateful to Grinning Graphics for their support and expertise in helping us reach more people with this fantastic new website.”
Grinning Graphics encourages everyone to visit the new website and join in supporting the Calderdale Community CPR Fund and spreading awareness about the importance of CPR training and defibrillator accessibility.
