In 2027, our creative Director Kate will be taking on the London Marathon.
She will be running for EdShift, a cause that’s become a very important part of her life. EdShift is a Halifax-based charity that helps children and young people affected by domestic abuse through creative, trauma-informed support.
Alongside running Grinning Graphics, Kate is also Chair at EdShift.
She’s set herself a fundraising target of £3,000.
£3,000 will fund an entire year of EdShift’s ‘In Touch Youth Club’.
‘In Touch’ gives children and young people a safe, welcoming place to spend time, get creative, build friendships, connect with trusted adults and have somewhere they feel they belong.
That means reaching the target won’t just mean Kate gets to say she raised £3,000 by running around London for several hours.
It means another full year of ‘In Touch’.
That’s another year of sessions, creativity and connection, and another year of children having somewhere to go where they can feel welcome, supported and less alone.
Over the next few months there will be training runs, long runs, and fundraising. There will probably be an unreasonable number of running-related Instagram posts and, eventually, 26.2 miles through London.
